A new brewing company came to us with a dream and a passion. Growing up, the owner had spent time in Germany learning about traditional brewing processes and travelled the world becoming quite the connoisseur.
Returning to his homeland of Northern Ireland, he wanted to open his own company, bringing the best methods and highest standards of European Beers and combine it with the influences of home.
Together, we came up with the name “Samuels”, the name of his father, for his brewery. It immediately connotes family ties and deep roots for the new Craft Beer brand, paired with the new tagline: “Brewed with passion in Belfast”.
Now we had the name, we came up with many design concepts for the logo. Finally these got narrowed down to three directions, representing the three founding ideas of the business: German precision, Traditional Brewing and a feeling of home in Belfast:
The final logo we feel represents the brand well. Designed to appeal to both males and females, positioning the beer as something to enjoy with friends over food, whilst keeping a feeling of heritage and tradition.
We needed to create the imagery for the marketing & sales aids before the beer itself had been bottled. The images we needed to create also had to be in a variety of settings while still protecting the colours and opacities of each beer type. To overcome these problems, we decided the best option would be to create the bottles, beer and the custom glass in 3D.
All our artwork below started as 3D models which were textured and tweaked to reflect the real life beer.
For the launch of the brand we created a range of POS, sales aids and digital assets for Samuels, for both consumers and sellers of the beer.
This included a Table Talker, Strut Cards, Posters, Roller Banners, Information Leaflets and Business Cards, all based on the 3D models. Collectively they help to reinforce the brands craft, friendly feel.
